In 2013 I set out to redesign the classic balsa model airplane kits we had as kids. I designed a new and updated shape, screen printed balsa sheets by hand, laser cut the sheets, and designed a unique cardboard carrying case for the packaging. This first product had viral success, bringing in over 30,000 people in the first weekend to my newly created company, spreading the TAIT Design Co. brandname across the world in the physical world as well as online.
Turbo Flyer® has gone on to sell hundreds of thousands of units since its launch and remains one TAIT Design Co.'s best sellers to this day. It has been carried by major retail stores such as Restoration Hardware and over 250 other high-end design stores around the world.
